Kronos Quartet - “Flugufrelsarinn” (Sigur Ros cover)
Utterly fantastic version in its own right, which is certainly saying something, since Agaetis Byrjun is among my favorite albums of all time. This takes the bass-heavy, swooning original and stretches the tempo out to a lurching, glacial pace while highlighting Jonsi’s heart-wrenching melody with added harmonies and trembling vibrato. A must listen for any fan of Sigur Ros or classical composers.
